Responsibilities:

Conducting HairCare Workshops: Lead engaging and informative workshops on hair care tailored for middle school and high school students, focusing on topics such as hair maintenance, styling techniques, and product selection.
- Creating Workshop Materials: Develop workshop content, including presentations, handouts, and interactive activities, ensuring that the material is age-appropriate and culturally sensitive.
- Demonstrating Techniques: Demonstrate various hair care techniques, such as washing, conditioning, detangling, and styling, providing step-by-step instructions and tips for achieving desired results.
- Facilitating Q&A Sessions: Encourage student participation by facilitating question and answer sessions, addressing inquiries about hair care practices, products, and concerns.
- Ensuring Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment, adhering to hygiene protocols and ensuring that all equipment and materials are properly sanitized and handled.
- Providing Individual Guidance: Offer personalized guidance and recommendations to students based on their hair types, textures, and specific needs, promoting confidence and self-care practices.
- Promoting Inclusivity and Diversity: Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where students of all backgrounds feel valued and represented, celebrating the diversity of hair textures and cultural heritage.
- Collaborating with Team Members: Work closely with other interns and staff members to coordinate workshop logistics, share resources, and brainstorm ideas for improving workshop content and delivery.
Requirements:
- Passion for Education: Enthusiasm for educating and empowering young individuals to embrace their natural hair and develop healthy hair care habits.
- Knowledge of HairCare: Solid understanding of basic hair care principles, including hair types, textures, common issues, and recommended products and techniques.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate concepts clearly and interact effectively with students of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor, able to build rapport and establish trust with workshop participants.
- Reliability and Punctuality: Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to fulfilling responsibilities and meeting deadlines.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours at a time) and perform hands-on demonstrations during workshops.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional weekends and adapt to changing schedules based on workshop needs and availability.
- Team Player: Collaborative attitude with a willingness to work as part of a team, contributing ideas and supporting colleagues to ensure the success of the workshops.
Duration: Internship with potential to turn part-time (maximum 8 hours per month)
Schedule: Typically during business hours (9:00 am - 5:00 pm), weekends may be required occasionally
